What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember choices and, in some cases, to measure use or show advertising. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in comparable ways, and this policy covers them too.
The cookies we use
Safety Consistent Services uses a single cookie, and it is essential to the working of the consultation form.
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
scs_session |
Holds a security token that protects the consultation form against cross-site request forgery, and temporarily keeps your form entries if an error needs correcting. | Essential, first party | Session. It is deleted when you close your browser. |
This cookie is set only when you visit the Contact page or submit the form. It does not identify you and is not used for tracking.
Why you are not asked for consent
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested do not need your consent. Because the only cookie we use falls into that category, this website does not display a cookie banner or preferences panel.
Cookies we do not use
- Analytics cookies. We do not currently use analytics tools to measure how visitors use the website.
- Marketing or advertising cookies. We do not use advertising or social media tracking cookies or pixels.
- Third-party content. Fonts, images and scripts are served from this website, so visiting a page does not send your information to third parties for embedded content.
If we introduce any non-essential cookies in future, we will ask for your consent before they are set, explain them in this policy and give you a way to withdraw consent at any time.
Managing and deleting cookies
You can see, block and delete cookies in your browser settings. Guidance is available from your browser’s help pages and from the Information Commissioner’s Office. If you block the essential cookie, the consultation form may not work, and you can contact us by telephone or email instead.
